Blogging winemakers

Indian Creek, my favorite all-around Idaho winery now has a blog, check it out.

Observations

  • There isn't much to do in Downtown Nampa after 8 p.m. on a Saturday night.
  • "It's ridiculous how bad they play" -- How I love Phil Hellmuth. Oh, the many ways.

Make sure you say bye

To one of Idaho's original and best bloggers.

I've still got my Red State Rebel bumper sticker on the side of my fridge; do you?

16 August 2007

School is in session

And Idaho's own submariner Bubblehead is at the head of the class:

"Maybe This Will Convince People That Some Idaho Christian Theocrats Don't Really Know Anything"

Read it.

Oh yes...

I am so getting to this and this. It's like shooting fish in a bucket.

Ok, this bores me

But I just couldn't help it.

(if you don't care about the Idaho blog'o'sphere you might as well stop reading now...)

In my Bloglines (if you don't do Bloglines you should, it's a great way to keep up with tons of sites in very quick and efficient manner) I have a section set up for Idaho Blogs; left, right and center. I read them all. While I'm not quite sure why I'm enamored by the drivel that comes out of the right side of Idaho's blog'o'sphere, it does make for some decent if not humorless lunchtime reading.

This one from Cramer today caught my eye:

Idaho Democrats

I generally ignore people whose notion of political argument is mixing personal insults and foul language.  Snowflakes in Hell noticed the 43rd State Blues blog:

Hmm, he then goes on to take issue with BinkyBoy of 43rdStateBlues calling him names, which I found rather humorous. Someone get the teacher on playground duty! I's got called a bad name! No biggie, what was more important was his choice of words. Words that give clues to how people like Cramer think and how they play loose with the truth. You see the truth doesn't matter if it doesn't fit into your world view.

What I did notice was the first few words of his first sentence: "I generally ignore people". Bullshit.

If you write something about Cramer (of which I often have) he will know about it, and you'll know that he knows - if you catch my drift. Cramer is the only person (or blogger I guess) that takes the time out of his hard day at work to search the interwebs to see what people are saying about him. I like it because I know if I link to his site, sure enough about 2 or 3 hours later I'll get a hit from http://technorati.com/search/www.claytoncramer.com.

It's almost a game to me, how quick can I see that familiar hit from selgs.com coming out of Horseshoe Bend? The guy appears to live and breathe the internet, even more so then those World of Warcraft folks that we all seem to know. Some people are addicted to crack, some to nicotine, some to booze and well, Cramer; to himself.

The guy is so full of himself and apparently has nothing better to do than search for what people are saying about him. But what is key is that he says that he doesn't care about what other bloggers are saying about him (and mostly that'd be myself and BinkyBoy), but he does. Which says a lot.

He lies, it's core to his value structure. "I'm too cool for that" when we all know it isn't true. And if he'd lie about that then what else would he lie about? He tries to play a face of moderation when he is a fundamentalist to the core, commonly quoted and in agreeance with Idaho's own Bryan Fischer. I really liked what BinkyBoy said about him a few days ago:

At least we aren't hiding them behind the screen of faux-civility that both Little Adam and yourself have mastered. You aren't civil, you're just assholes saying your hateful things in ways that make you feel good. You're a bunch of racist, bigotted worthless peons that get things wrong more than you get them right and you're upset because you get called on it.

Whether you agree with the language or not is beside the point, that is a hatred that underscores much of the "civil" right-wing blogs. And I do say right-wing, because people like Cramer and Graham are way out of mainstream America. They may not use the language that some of us like to use every now and again (I've never understood why people are offended by "foul" language, but that's something else entirely), but underneath there is so much hatred for America, Americans and what we as a country stand for.

And if you want to see some of what we value check out one of Idaho's own IdaBlue's posts from just this week. Decency and reality are on our side.

You know what they say... it always starts with the small things, then it builds up. First it was the ... then it was the ... then it was me.
